New Dates Coming

Class cost: $40.00 + $40.00 for materials: hornbook and linen backing w/colonial home on hill design.

Ring in the new school year, with a tribute to the past. We will be hooking a decorative cover for a primitive-style hornbook (10"x6").  Hornbooks were traditionally used as an alternative to using multiple sheets of expensive paper in the old school days. A single sheet of paper was attached to a paddle of wood and a thin sheet of cow's horn was the protective transparent cover - thus the namesake "hornbook".
*Additional costs: Purchase your own colors of wools for hooking - available in studio. *Hooks and frames available for purchase, or bring yours from home. This will be the third in the series of Folk Art Furnishings by Wayne Sims . Each piece will be available in 2 colors/ styles and hand-signed. The pattern will be a primitive pattern designed by Wildflower Wools. Sign up now to start your own hooked collection of these beautiful pieces of folk art.
