SUMMER CAMP AT OLD OAKS RANCH
June 2 – 6, July 7 – 11, July 14 – 18, July 28 – August 1, August 4 – 8
Monday – Friday 9:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Incoming fourth graders on up.
Mornings begin with our Ranch Manager, Tracy, tending to the alpacas, chickens and donkey and a ranch project.
“For the Birds” Construct and finish a birdhouse and mosaic tile birdbath.
Weeks: June 2, July 14 and August 4th.
“Sounds of Nature” Create a water fountain with mosaic glass tiles.
Weeks: July 7 and July 28th.
Afternoons in the Fiber Arts Studio.
“Step Lightly/Sleep Soundly” Weave your own rug to put by your bed using batik cloth for your warp. Hook an inlay design for your pillow to match your rug.
Weeks: June 2, July 14 and August 4th.
“Dynamics of Dyeing” Explore the fun and science of different kinds of dyeing using indigo, cyanotype and sun printing on fabric. Turn your dyed materials into creative fiber projects.
Weeks: July 7 and July 28th.
Maximum 8 campers per session. Campers bring their own lunch each day.
$250.00 per session includes all materials. $125.00 deposit.
Extended hours: Campers may stay till 5p.m. for $10.00 per day/ till 6p.m. for $25.00 per day.
Deposit less $50.00 will be refunded until 30 days prior to camp start date.
Fiber Interest Group (FIG) – Join us on the last Saturday of each month, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, to share your current project or finished object (FO), find answers to questions related to patterns or stitches, or just visit with others who share your love of fiber arts. It’s very casual, with no agendas, minutes, or dues.

Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts, grades 6-12
Come enjoy an array of fibers and fiber arts, at the Old Oaks Ranch Fiber Arts Studio.
Expand your creativity and trendy fiber skills amidst color, texture, traditional and modern fiber arts. You will see the whole process of fiber to finish come alive from the Alpaca herd on the ranch, to the finished woven knitted or hooked product. Schedule the event for your troop or join in with another troop. Event date: Tuesday evenings by reservation (alternate days possible)

You are never to young to create beauty! Develop or sharpen your skills in weaving, collage, patchwork and embroidery. From the time you enter the beautiful grounds of the Alpaca Ranch to the time you leave the fiber arts studio, you will be exploring the process of fiber to finish.
