Felted Hats from Alpaca Fleece

When: Saturday July 24 10AM-4PM

Class Description: Create a felted hat from raw alpaca fleece. Choose a hat mold and short or wide brim. Hat will finish drying at home.

Prerequisites or Class Prep: Minimum: 6 students, wear casual, comfy clothes.

Class Level: All welcome.

Fee: $55 + $70 for materials including a large metal tray, pattern, handout, 6-8 oz. hand-carded alpaca fleece.

Embellishing Your New Alpaca Felted Hat

When: New date coming! 10AM-3PM

Class Description: Wondering what to do with your finished hat? How to trim the brim or what to do for a hat band? Lots of ideas abound and getting together with creative people creates creativity! The sky is the limit with ideas to decorate your hat. Simple, elaborate, colorful - you choose. Make a hat that makes you happy.

Prerequisites or Class Prep: Minimum: 6 students. Students bring their dry, felted alpaca hat.

Class Level: Beginner to Advanced.

Fee: $45 + $10 materials for sweatband and embellishments.

Make Your Own Camp Day

When: ANY DAY! Tuesday through Saturday 10AM-5PM

Class Description: Fiber Fusion starts with our own alpaca felt as the canvas for your wall hanging or pillow top design. Anne takes you through the steps of needle felting, embroidery, needle punch, beading, and applique to make a one of a kind multi-dimensional art piece! Bring your fabric scraps, beads, fleece, or combine with our supply.

Prerequisites or Class Prep: Ages: 15-Adult

Fee: $50.00 plus material ($15 per quarter sheet felt 18x24)

Instructions: Bring your lunch to enjoy on the patio or discover one of Wimberley's yummy spots.

Dye and Nuno Felt a Silk Scarf or Shawl

Fee: $30.00 + materials ($15.00 scarf/$25 shawl)

Fiber Fusion

Class Description: This class will use Old Oaks Ranch Felt (made in central Texas from our own alpacas) to make a wall hanging or pillow using a variety of techniques such as needle felting, embroidery, needle punch, beading, appliqué, etc. Bring your own embellishments and we will have more on hand.

Prerequisites or Class Prep: Ability to do some of the above techniques, or you have in the past and need to be reminded!

Class Level: Beginner +

Fee: $20 plus materials. Felt will cost $15 per quarter sheet (roughly 18x24), and you may purchase additional items.

Instructions: Bring: You may wish to bring needles, scissors, fabric scraps, beads, buttons, yarn scraps, fleece, etc. Be creative!
